Stamped with a Rock: The Evolution of the Pronoun Rings
There is something incredibly humbling about looking back at where your business started.
When I first began making jewelry, I didn’t even have a proper studio setup. I didn’t even own a jeweler's hammer. I literally grabbed a heavy rock from outside, lined up my steel stamps on metal, and struck them to force the letters into existence.
It was raw, it was scrappy, and it worked.
Eventually, those rock-stamped experiments evolved into clean, polished sterling silver bands.
Around the time that conversations about identity and pronouns started taking off, a custom request came in for a set of pronoun rings: He/Him, She/Her, They/Them.
It clicked for me immediately.
Identity isn't a trend. It's a foundational truth. Translating those pronouns into wearable silver turned a simple piece of metal into a daily anchor. It became a way to plainly, comfortably show up as yourself in any environment.

Lately, I’ve been talking a lot with my friends about what it actually means to claim your space. In social circles, it’s so easy for people to skip events or avoid certain places just because a specific person might be there. We shrink ourselves to avoid friction. But these rings represent the exact opposite energy: the power to show up flat-footed, plain-faced, and completely comfortable in your own environment, no matter who else is standing in the room. You have a right to your own life.
I’m writing this because I woke up this morning to a beautiful reminder that this message travels far. A multi-item order for these exact pronoun rings just popped off, and they are flying all the way to Germany.
Knowing that a piece of jewelry born from a rock and a vision by the California coast is crossing the Atlantic to live in Europe lights a fire under me. It energizes me to keep pushing, keeping creating, and keep working harder. To offset their wild international shipping costs, I’m sliding a few of my favorite photography prints into the package to send a little West Coast sunshine across the globe.
Show up, claim your environment, and never wait for the perfect hammer to start building your empire.
