The Evolution of the Leaf Earring

The Evolution of the Leaf Earring

You know that feeling when you create something just for kicks and it actually turns out pretty cool? That's exactly how our leaf drop earrings came to life.

It all started with leftover silver scraps gathering dust on my workbench. Instead of tossing them, I decided to have some fun and see what I could make. No pressure, no expectations—just me, my tools, and a pile of metal. A few hours later, I had a pair of delicate leaf earrings that I genuinely loved. They were quirky, handmade, and totally imperfect in the best way possible.

My boyfriend's mom stopped by one day, spotted them hanging on my work table, and immediately asked if she could have them. I was so thrilled that someone else loved them as much as I did that I gifted them to her in our next care package sent home.

Then, a customer saw them via social media, tracked me down, and asked if I could make a custom pair. Suddenly, I was back at the bench for a commission.

I upgraded to a heavier silver gauge for better durability, spent way more time perfecting the hand-detailing, and really refined every aspect of the design. The second pair took longer to create, but the quality jump was massive. It was like watching my little scrap-metal experiment level up into something genuinely professional.

Looking back, I love that these earrings went from "random bench project" to "commissioned piece" to "signature design." It's proof that sometimes the best things start with zero expectations and a willingness to keep improving. Plus, it's pretty cool knowing that a pair born from scraps inspired someone to believe in my work enough to commission a better version.
